Caroline Mallonée holds a Ph.D. in composition from Duke University and degrees from Harvard University and the Yale School of Music. Her teachers include Scott Lindroth, Steve Jaffe, Joseph Schwanter, Evan Ziporyn, Mario Davidovsky and Bernard Rands.

Dr. Mallonée’s compositions have been performed by the Contemporary Music Forum of Washington D.C., the Women Composer’s Orchestra of Baltimore, the Baltimore Choral Arts Society, the Virginia Pops Symphony, the Ciompi Quartet, Non Sequitur and the Gregg Smith Singers. Her music has been performed in the U.S., England,and Mexico, and has been broadcast over National Public Radio on Garrison Keillor’s “Prairie Home Companion”. She has held residencies at the MacDowell Colony and Atlantic Center for the Arts and is a current participant in the American Opera Project’s annual workshop program.
