Welcome to the Jennifer Fitzgerald Memorial Project.  This space is dedicated to honoring the life and preserving the artistic legacy of our former colleague.

Jen passed away unexpectedly on December 23, 2007, following an extended battle with cancer. She was a founding member and longtime co-director of pulsoptional; as the group’s first Administrative Director, she laid crucial groundwork for our continued viability. In her too-short but well-lived life, Jen touched many; she was fiercely dedicated to her musical, intellectual, and moral ideals, as well as to her friends and fellow artists. We offer this online archive of her work as a way to highlight Jen’s contributions to the world — her restless vitality, her loyalty and generosity, and above all her distinct musical voice.

We invite you to spend some time exploring the site, and to share a note — a comment, a memory, or anything else — in the guestbook on the “Memorial” page.  We also encourage you to contact us directly if you are in possession of any relevant materials (recordings, scores, photos and/or video); we will be continually updating the archive with such items as we find them.

The Jennifer Fitzgerald Memorial Project was made possible with generous support from Charles and Barbara Mallonee, as well as by donations from individuals like you.  To find out how to become a maintaining partner, please contact marc faris, Administrative Director.

And many thanks to Katie Benedetto of Yellow Rubber Ball for her expertise in getting this long-simnmering project off the ground!
