About the piece:

North South East West is scored for four percussionists in four corners.  They may be in the four corners of the hall, surrounding the audience, or they may be in four corners of a stage.

The piece features recognizable patterns passed around the ensemble in different directions and at different speeds; the effect is visceral.

North South East West was commissioned by the Ethos Percussion Group with a grant from the Jerome Foundation.
