CAROLINE MALLONÉE: NEWS

Glissando’s first album, Drone Level Orange, is available from Carrier Records.  Mallonée is playing violin on the recording, and the music was all written collaboratively by the group.

Mallonée has been named composer-in-residence for the Buffalo Chamber Players. In addition to presenting a portrait concert of her music at Pausa Art House in 2017, they premiered two septets, “Curtains of Light” and “Net Force” at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery this year.

Haruka Fujii’s newest CD, Ingredients, features Tomorrow Sharpened for marimba and piano, performed by Fujii and Eric Huebner.  Buy the CD from New Focus Recordings here

The New York Philharmonic programmed Mallonée’s quintet, Unless Acted Upon: Manifestations of Newton’s First Law, on its CONTACT! chamber music series at National Sawdust.

Feng Hew, Associate Principal Cellist of the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra, was the soloist in Whistler Waves for Cello and Orchestra under the baton of JoAnn Falletta when the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra presented the work on November 3, 2015.  Listen to the piece here. Verdant Vibes chose Mallonée’s quartet, Throwing Mountains, as a winner in its recent Call for Scores. It was performed in Providence, RI on December 4, 2016.

Nuova Consonanza programmed two of Mallonée’s pieces for solo piano on its festival in Rome in December. Pangrams and How Small I Am were performed by Silvia D’Augello on December 3, 2016.

The Roycroft Chamber Music Festival performed “The Butterfly Effect” on June 16 in East Aurora, NY.

Vox16 chose “O Lux” in its most recent Call for Scores. The choir performed the piece in its West Coast premiere on April 29 and 30 in Seattle, WA.
